Are you ready to help make that happen? Thank you for your interest in helping these hurting kids! Please see the description of valuable volunteer positions needing to be filled each year:
****Camp Counselors
For every counselor willing to spend the entire week at camp, two campers are able to attend. Each counselor is responsible for only two children in order to provide the very best care for our campers. Training is provided and mandatory.
****Support Volunteers
Areas involved could include nurses, licensed professional counselors, teacher, Breakfast Club helpers, bus driver, drama, music, sound/lights, wood project, craft area helpers, fishing, archery, sports court, field activities, campfire and relief counselor support throughout the week. While the counselors spend most of their time with their two assigned campers, support volunteers have the opportunity to interact with more of the kids. Training is provided and mandatory.
****Gramma and Grampa/Aunt and Uncle
This position could be filled by a married couple who would enthusiastically participate in all camp activities and give lots of love and attention to the campers. Should also be all-around helpers who are willing to jump in and lend a hand where needed. Training is provided and mandatory.
We want to ensure that we are preparing you as thoroughly as possible for working with these special children and have created a 100% 'safe zone' for them while in our care. Returning volunteers must have 8-hours of training, and new volunteers must have 12-hours of training each year to be a part of camp.
If you are unable to join us during the week of camp, please don't let that stop you. There are many other ways to help!
*Birthday Party
Imagine the joy on a child's face who is celebrated at Everybody's Birthday. During the week, we enjoy a birthday party in their honor, complete with birthday cake and presents. Planning and preparation help is always needed prior to camp week, and/or to set up the party at camp.
*Welcome Home Dinner
Exhausted but filled! After an active and rewarding week at camp, volunteers are oftentimes emotionally drained, especially after having to say goodbye to the campers. The Welcome Home Dinner is a "thank you" meal for the volunteers and their families, giving the opportunity to share stories and talk about positive memories from the week. Volunteers are needed to decorate and set up, prepare and serve the meal, and clean up. It's a great way to serve those who have just served, and to be a part of camp without spending the week away.
*Prayer Partners
Camp wouldn't happen without the prayers of many! Pray for wisdom and guidance for the Service Team and camp preparations during the year. During the week of camp, pray for a specific volunteer and two campers. After camp, pray for the children's transition back into the home.
*Fundraising Committee
Help plan and implement fundraising events for camp. Previous events have included a guided salmon fishing tournament, a bowling event, and a golf tournament. Do you have another idea? Get involved now for next summer's camp.
*Got talent???
If you have a hobby, talent, or resource that you like to share with children, let us know! We would love to see how your skills and passion can help enrich our campers and their camp experience!
